Meta was looking for a website that combined her author platform and 3 blog pages covering reader and writer tips as well as healthy living posts. She had a very specific audience in mind - people who love historical fiction and women who struggle with auto-immune disease. She needed to connect her Mailchimp account to her new website to grow her email list. She also wanted to show her Pinterest board with her latest blog posts on her website in a way that would be simple to manage. Most of all, she wanted her website to be simple to manage and easy to upload new blog posts and content.

Brand
We worked with Meta to develop the best keywords and site goals to attract her ideal readers. Then we created a mini brand guide including 5 colors and 2 fonts and stock photos. We presented her with 3 different options to choose from and solidified her brand colors and fonts in her first edit round. We then designed 2 options of blog post photo templates in Canva so each post would be consistent with her brand.
Home
Once her branding was finalized, we started building her 8-page website including Home, About, Books, Contact, a Landing Page, and a 3 category blog. We created a blog using specific tags and categories so it would be divided into three different topics, but still easy to upload new posts each week.
Mobile Optimized
We know many of Meta’s readers will be purusing her latest books and catching up on her blog on their phone. Every page is optimized for mobile use with responsive design.
Author Platform and Blog
We focused on creating easy to use solutions for her website with as little custom code as possible to make site updates simple. Her site included a Pinterest widget and the connection of her mailchimp account. We also created a landing page and lead magnet PDF in Canva for subscribers to download, helping grow her email list.
In her custom lesson, we made sure to go over all the steps for uploading blog and page content and provided resources for support. Meta was thrilled with her final website, she felt the style captured what she had in mind perfectly and the functionality was easy to use.
